Back country skiing
Back country skiing is a highly appreciated activity that is well-known in the Pays du St-Bernard.
From the easy but so symbolic ascent that takes you to the Grand-St-Bernard Hospice to its difficult Dolent, Vélan and Grand-Combin counterparts via routes of medium difficulty such as the ascent at the Dotze or the Tête de Ferret, the possibilities are immense.
In addition, the Pays du St-Bernard is traversed by the legendary Haute Route which runs from Chamonix to Zermatt. Champex-Lac and Bourg-St-Pierre are both stop-offs.
This activity requires excellent knowledge of the area.
Don’t hesitate to hire a guide should you wish to try it out.
